About

Johnny Gabor, a native Chicagoan, comes from a long line of musicians. His father played violin and he worked with many Chicago musicians. He also worked with his brothers all over the Chicago land area, like the Edgewater Beach Hotel and many popular clubs in Chicago.

Johnny Gabor began playing piano at the age of 8 years old. He played his first engagement at a famous restaurant called The Maison La Fitte at the age of 13.

Johnny played at many of Chicago's "hot spots"...like the Pump Room, The Blue Angel, the Sybarsis Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock building, Billy's and Blondie's on Rush Street, The Four Torches where Frank Sinatra would come in when he was in town and sing with Johnny.
